cal' Alaska photos

A 90-pound lab looks mighty small next to a 150-poound Malemute. Blackie and Bubba.

My log home at night. Actually about 9am mid winter.

Mt. McKinley and the tracks. I see this each day I drive to sub at the local school.

Track practice at the school in late April.

A huge dredge for gold mining at the town of Chicken. Actually the town was to be named ptarmigan (after the bird) 100 years ago, but none of the residents could spell it so Chicken was substituted.

Rainbow 230 miles above the Arctic Circle.

The sun through a forest fire.

A mom moose and her calf visit my burn barrel, wood pile, and scrap wood burn pile.
