Stewart Granger

While making King Solomon's Mines in 1949, and over a decade later during The Last Safari, Stewart Granger hunted between takes. One of his rifles was a Westley .577. His producer, and other big wigs at the studio, were not too keen on the idea as if he got hurt the film would have been canned. Here is SG with one of his elephants.
